A LITTLE SUGAR PLEASE!

Easter candy is on the shelves, and I'm having a hard time staying away from it!!

There are three specific candies I always have to have! They each have their own year that they became dear to me.

1) Russell Stover chocolate covered marshmallow egg-The year my Dad died, I had just turned 12.

Year after year it had always been in my Easter basket. So I buy myself these every Easter.

2) Marshmallow Peeps- my first *boyfriend* brought me a package and I fell in LOVE! (with the peeps)

3) Candy covered malted milk eggs- This one is treasured, because I taught my kids how to lick the egg, and turn it into lipstick. (I still do this sometimes!)

Who else has a special sweet tooth?

I know what you mean about Easter candy. I've done a good job at avoiding them. Only thing is, for Valentine's, my hubby bought me some Peeps (one of my faves!).
I have yet to eat them because it's not Easter yet. But, soon! :)

I think that this adoption thing is making me over-sensitive. Although your post was about more than just candy, I still get teary! What a sap! Anyway...I'm in love with Cadbury Mini Eggs. Not the ones that have the "yolk" in the center, but the ones with the candy shell and solid chocolate in the center. This year, my hubby convinced the guy stocking the shelves at the grocery store to open the case of them for me-the day after valentine's

I loved reading your memories. How sweet! I am sorry you lost your dad at such a young age. Unfortunately, I love chocolate year round. Halloween is my biggest problem. I guess it is a good thing that I dont like peeps or any marshmallow creams.

I totally LOVE peeps. I think the place where they are made is in Pennsylvania not too far from where I used to live. (I think...) The other day at Linens & Things I saw stuffed marshmallow peeps for kids (like stuffed teddy bears only they were pink peeps). They were totally cute and soft. I thought about buying one for baby M, maybe I still will...

What a fantastic tradition, I really enjoyed reading about the stories behind each of your meaningful Easter treats. Personally I'm a Cadbury Cream Egg fan, but the lipstick idea might be too good not to try!

Hmmm... I wish I had a love affair with candy. I really do. But my admiration comes in the form of Doritos. Cheetos. Tortilla chips. Salsa. Guac. Sour cream. Can't get enough.

I thought of you this weekend. I ended up finding the perfect recipe for Kansas Sunflower Seed Cookies. Made me feel like I was in Wichita again.
